Neighboring States Attempt to Sue Colorado
(Summer 2016) Officials in Oklahoma and Nebraska claim that neighboring Colorado’s legalization of marijuana has provoked an upswing in drug cases within their own borders. The two states tried to take their litigation directly to the U.S. Supreme Court, but the high court refused to hear the case.
Nebraska and Oklahoma officials charge that marijuana purchased legally in Colorado is being smuggled across state lines and is responsible for clogging their judiciary systems with drug cases.
