Is Medical Marijuana “Good” Medicine?
(Fall 2017) Medical marijuana is becoming more readily available, but the question remains as to whether it is actually effective in decreasing chronic pain. Researchers recently reviewed data to explore this issue, along with a goal of uncovering drawbacks to using the drug. After analyzing the results of 27 chronic pain studies, there is “low strength evidence” that marijuana helps with neuropathic pain and “insufficient evidence” associated with the management of other types of pain.
