“Blue Blossoms” Popular with Youth

A liquid called “Blue Blossoms” is gaining popularity among young adults. It can be purchased at most smoke and head shops. When the substance is smoked through an electronic cigarette (e-cigarette), it induces effects much like marijuana, “spice” or ecstasy. One addiction treatment center in California reports seeing a burgeoning number of Blue Blossoms abusers in its younger age demographic.

The drug is legal to purchase but labeled “not for human consumption.” However, users are manipulating e-cigarettes to smoke Blue Blossoms with disregard for its side effects, which include increased heart rate, distorted time perception, short intervals of euphoria and lowered awareness.
