A Stricter Legal Blood Alcohol Limit?

(Spring 2018) The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is now advocating for the reduction of the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level from .08 to .05 in an attempt to decrease fatalities due to drunk driving. The group also recommends raising taxes on alcohol purchases, tightening existing legislation to deter underage alcohol sales, instituting a federal law mandating ignition interlocks for drivers convicted of a DUI and giving treatment to offenders when applicable.
