Cincinnati’s Fight against Heroin Granted $200K
(Spring 2017) A new effort in the Cincinnati region is working to connect overdose survivors with treatment to reduce the chances of relapse. To aid this important work, the nonprofit Interact for Change granted Colerain Township and Clermont County $100,000 each. This money is earmarked to support rapid response teams that reach out to individuals and help place them in treatment.
Colerain Township’s original quick response team was started in Hamilton County in 2015 and is generating positive outcomes. Of particular note is the high percentage of overdose victims entering treatment.
Quick response teams are now springing up in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.
