Is That Person Right For Your Company?

Hiring the “right” employee is one of the most critically important activities a company must do.  A pre-employment drug test is a critical element of the screening process. Employers also collect information from resumes, applications, interviews, social media and references.  But, how does one know?  Administer a background check.

Over the years Working Partners® has received many questions and requests about purchasing background checks. We’re excited to announce we are now making high-quality, low-cost background screening available to Working Partners® Consortium members.

Similar to drug and alcohol testing, there are several legal issues that influence when and how background checks should be used.  Of course, these screenings are often used to make personnel decisions, and with that, employers need to follow the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Federal Trade Commission rules.  To help make sure employers understand the responsibilities associated with background checks, Working Partners® is partnering with Foley Carrier Services, provider of this Consortium service, to deliver a free, educational webinar on October 7, 2014 .

As a reminder, background screenings are not the only service offers to Working Partners® Consortium members. Consortium members also have access to

  • Discounts on all Working Partners® education and training in the classroom, online and at your location
  • The quarterly Working Partners® Consortium DFPW News you are currently reading
  • Technical assistance to help address situations related to your drug-free workplace program
  • Regular communications and program reminders (e.g., e-blasts, class reminders and updates)
  • Discounts on Department of Transportation (DOT) services
  • Discounts on Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services (Premium level only)
  • Discounts on legal services in connection to your drug-free workplace program (Premium level only)
