Press Release: OnDemand 24/7 Course to Train Supervisors on Role in Drug-Free Workplace

Supervisors play a critical part in a company’s drug-free workplace program. To help supervisors get the training they need to be effective, Working Partners®, a drug-free workplace program consultation and training firm, now provides an around-the-clock, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation-qualified, supervisor training course.

Supervisor Training: Essentials helps supervisors understand their role and responsibilities in a drug-free workplace program. Using adult learning theory best practices, this course breaks down a supervisor’s drug-free workplace responsibilities into three tasks and then demonstrates how to apply these tasks to situations they are likely to experience such as determining if a post-accident drug test is needed or if an employee should be sent for a reasonable suspicion test. Supervisors also receive tips for how to confront employees about possible alcohol and other drug use.

“We know that employees are less likely to use alcohol or other drugs on the job if their supervisors are trained to notice signs of abuse and are willing to take action if they see such signs,” said Karen Pierce, Managing Director of Policy Development and Training. “They are the backbone of a company’s program, which is why we designed this course to arm supervisors with the knowledge and tools they need to help administer their company’s program.

Lasting approximately one hour, this self-guided OnDemand 24/7 course stays true to the hallmark of Working Partners® education and training services – maximizing engagement and learning. Supervisors Training: Essentials uses activities, quizzes, mini scenarios and animation to keep students involved and convey knowledge vital to understanding their role within their company’s drug-free workplace program. A certificate of completion, needed to demonstrate compliance with governing authorities, is provided to anyone who passes the course.

Supervisor Training: Essentials helps round out the education and training offerings of Working Partners®. “We provide a variety of ways an organization can accomplish education and training because no one option fits every need,” said Pierce. “For example, the OnDemand 24/7 courses are great for companies who have third shift employees and supervisors, had people miss a scheduled training, or are trying to meet a last minute compliance deadline. When combined with our other offerings we are able to support any organizations’ needs.”

Working Partners® can also help a company with drug-free education and training through webinar and classroom courses, training companies to conduct their own courses, or sending trainers out to an organization.
